A Brief Burger Encounter in London

I recently went to London. Not only was the weekend full of excitement from the Bladerunner Secret Cinema event (it was bloody amazing) but we also ran around eating a few burgers from several different places. We were meant to do 3 pitstops for food but only managed a couple before we jumped on the train home. One of the places we visited was Coqfighter in Boxpark, Shoreditch after a last minute recommendation from the king of burgers himself, Jakesfoodbible. If you don’t already follow him on social media, why?

Coqfighter BoxPark Shoreditch Buffalo Burger I’d heard rave reviews about the Buffalo Burger at a cost of 9 golden coins. It consists of honey ginger, buffalo sauce, smoked garlic mayo, and house pickles. It honestly tastes better than it looks if that is possible. We were dining on a Saturday afternoon and I expected the place to be busier than it was. But it meant our burgers arrived to the table at lightening speed so I’m not complaining. Josh went for the original burger, also £9, that can be found on the Coqfighter menu. Paired with vodka and sesame battered k-wings, these crispy bites of heaven are served with a house made sweet soy and garlic glaze, and Korean hot sauce.

But alas, takeaways are nothing compared to the effort of these burgers. They lived up to the hype. The inner chicken was tender, juicy and the outside crispy and crunchy. Can you think of a better combination? The condiments and flavours merge into one creating the ideal lunchtime treat. If you’re near Boxpark I suggest you head to this place for a bite to eat. I’d happily eat one every day for breakfast.

Bleecker Burger Spitalfields Market Bleecker Burger, Spitalfields London

On the Friday, we got a tip to head over to Bleecker Burger in Spitalfields Market. It’s a chain restaurant and there’s 3 locations in total, Spitalfields, Victoria and Bloomberg. The buns are relatively small but are packed full of flavour. I chose the double beef burger, with double cheese, onion & sauce (£9) and Josh went for the  bacon double cheeseburger – double beef, double cheese, onion, bacon & sauce (£10). Paired with the angry fries with hot sauce & blue cheese sauce (£4) and house fries with bleecker house sauce (£4), this was the perfect way to fill our stomachs for the night. Have you tried this place before?

I just think you should try these out if you haven’t done so already. Do let me know if you plan on trying some of the burgers.
