Someone asked me the other day why I don’t write negative food reviews or articles on my blog. The simple fact is, if I do not like something, I don’t write about it. It’s as easy as that. This past week has been a real eye opener and has been one of the most positive and uplifting weeks in a long time.
Last week I hit the Foodies Festival in Canon Hill Park. Last month I gave out two pairs of tickets via my Food Column at the Coleshill Post newspaper. I had so many entries which means that people are reading my columns. This makes me happier than ever. I met up with friends and ate some really great food. My blog has recently taken a vast ‘food’ approach, but I enjoy writing lifestyle pieces.
I was recently contacted by a lovely little family company called Robins & Sons. They have created their own chocolate brand using the purest natural ingredients. The chocolate is beautifully packaged in cellophane with individual bows and is indulgent and rich – my favourite being the chocolate orange crackle. I’m a fan of dark chocolate but they also create milk chocolate slabs for those tea dunkers. I’ve been nibbling on pieces throughout the week with cups of tea and it’s so moorish!. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for beautifully wrapped chocolate gifts and it’s always great to support business which aren’t on the high street. You can find their catalogue here and they aren’t pricey either!
I’ve been indulging in great books and candles as of late. I’m a lover of routine and thrive off seeing what other people get up to. If you’re nosy like me you can see my ‘5 Things after work routine‘ here. Has anyone else read this book? It’s super sweet and a great bedtime read.
I took some time off work yesterday to have a ‘me’ day. I think it’s important to treat yourself once in a while. My new white bag and purse are both from River Island. I’ve also been going swimming more and using the sauna to de-stress and exercise, considering all the food I eat. Don’t you always feel so much better afterwards? I’m off to a Spa hotel for the Bank Holiday weekend and excited to watch Eurovison in our huge superior room! Have you got much planned for this weekend?
Hi Michelle, thanks for your wonderful comment. I completely agree, I like to keep this positive on my blog, considering I write for myself and don't want to always write negative things! The chocolate was delicious, make sure you check out their website! x
Hi Emma! I like that you don't write negative reviews or articles. I'm the same; if I don't like something or I had a bad experience, I don't put in on my blog. I think it's unfair on the people/brand as I'm only one person with my opinion and my experience isn't necessarily what everyone has. I also like to keep things positive because life has a lot of negativity in general already – I like to keep my blog as a little positive happy place. 🙂
I love the look of those chocolates! <3 It's making me hungry. The tea dunking idea is brilliant – speaking as a tea dunker!
