Being treated to a massage, skin detox or a face treatment is one of the best things about being a woman, am I right? Everyone needs that ‘down time’ now and again and anyone who knows me will know I completely thrive on being pampered. I was recently given the opportunity to be one of the first visitors to the Clarins Spa, at John Lewis Birmingham, so of course I was interested to see what my treatment would entail.
A few weeks prior to my visit, I received an email from the Spa manager ensuring me I would be given the best possible treatment for my skin type and ultimately, would receive a memorable pampering session. Just to be clear, Clarins aren’t lying when they say you are the most important person to them. Beauty and wellbeing certainly comes first in their eyes. I loved walking into the treatment room to this ‘starter tray’ where a glass of water, some spray, a flannel and lipsticks were already waiting for me. I undressed, and got onto the bed and was snugly wrapped between the towels. Stacie, my beauty therapist for the evening asked me questions about my skin type and talked me through which facial she thought was best for my skin.
My skin is always feels so dry and cracks easily in the winter with eczema usually taking over my hands and legs. Out of the nine tri-active facial treatments you can be given, Stacie thought the Detox and Shine Stopper would be ideal for my skin. It intensively purifies the skin, rebalances oil production, tightens and refines pores. Afterwards, my complexion became clearer, smoother, softer and more had a matte feel – and still feels the same even a week later. I was so incredibly relaxed and surprised when even my feet and hands started being massaged. I was told that Clarins include up to 40 massage techniques and my treatment didn’t once feel rushed. Considering the treatment was an 1 hour and 25 minutes long, time seemed to go by way too quick for my liking. My face, feet, hands, arms, neck and back appreciated being massaged with a variety of different Clarins lotions. I could smell all of the essential oils, most of which hold the purest plant extracts. My favourite product used was the HydraQuench Intensive Serum. It works to boost skin hydration and radiance and I could straight away feel my dehydrated skin become soft, and radiant.
Once my treatment was over, Stacie consulted me as to what products would help benefit my morning routine and I was kindly given some Clarins goodies to take home with me. I really did feel like they went the extra mile to make my treatment personal and memorable. Christmas is coming up, and I think a gift card for a treatment would be perfect for a family member or friend who loves being pampered. Not forgetting, Clarins also do facial and massage treatments for men! Although Clarins treatments and products are a little on the pricey side, you certainly get what you pay for and beyond. My experience was one in a million and what’s better, the Spa is in the new John Lewis, Birmingham Grand Central which is perfect for a spot of retail therapy afterwards… Have you ever visited a Clarins Spa before? Disclaimer: I attended Clarins Spa in John Lewis, Birmingham as a guest to experience a treatment. The Detox & Shine Stopper treatment would have cost £67. All opinions are my own.
