The University of Sheffield Graduation 2013

I graduated from The University of Sheffield yesterday. It sounds cheesy, but it really was one of the best days of my life. Being surrounded by your best friends, family, boyfriend and champagne made the day exceptional. My momma, Dad, Josh and I arrived in Sheffield at around 2pm. I collected my gown and met my Journo friends out on the Union concourse. Before the ceremony, my dad went to nearest Champagne tent, and bought a brand new bottle of champers for us. It went down a-treat! Although I should mention, I did feel a bit wobbly afterwards and when I went onto the stage to collect my degree (oops!). As I got onto the stage when they called my name, I looked at my Journo friends and pumped my fist in the air, twice. As you can see by some of the smiles in my ‘handshake’ photographs, some of the members of staff seem to be giggling. Result! Afterwards, I met my friends for some more photographs. We then headed into Firth Court, where our Journo department had set up a champers and strawberry event for us to enjoy inside a cool tent. I should mention, the day was beautiful, but incredibly hot. Especially when you have to wear a gown, with fur for a couple of hours, I began to feel the heat after a while. I said my goodbyes to my friends. It wasn’t as emotional as I thought, simply because I know we are all going onto bigger and better things. Tears are for the low points in life, but this was not one of them. Around 6.30pm, we drove back to Birmingham, and met my big brother and our friend Gary at a local chinese buffet. It was a PERFECT day. I can’t quite emphasize that enough. Oh, and my boyfriend also surprised me with an upcoming trip to London and DERREN BROWN tickets. My boy knows me too well. I hope you enjoy the pictures, and feel free to comment below. The University of Sheffield Graduation 2013.
