Ox Pasture Hall Hotel is gorgeous four star country hotel that I was invited to review late last year. For some reason it’s taken me a while to post about it but I couldn’t not show you, it’s absolutely stunning. During our trip I took some beautiful pictures which will tell you all you need to know about the place. Located near Scarborough, it took us around two and half hour hours to drive there from Birmingham and during our one night stay, we visited the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and ate some pretty great grub. The hotel really looked after us during our visit, I would highly recommend a visit there if you live up North.
We were shown directly to our spacious Ox Pasture Luxury Suite (£350) and the room was gigantic. It had a lounge area with a TV, a seating area, a double bathroom with an added shower and a large bedroom. We had a cold November so we spent the best part of the day snuggling in bed and taking long bubble baths which is my favourite past time. Absolute bliss! The king size bed was really comfy but it was a bit chilly in there. It was a large bedroom facing a meadow so the views were naturally fantastic.
Not long after we checked into our room, Josh and I headed out for a drive. Driving across the Yorkshire Moors is a scary place, it was very deserted but so beautiful at the same time. We came across an old train station – The North Yorkshire Moors and we stopped off and wondered around for a bit. On our way out of the hotel, we spotted a pretty rainbow. Although it began to rain, we put on our walking shoes and we didn’t really care about much else. It was the perfect escape and it gave us the chance to switch our phones off for a while. It was a sign of a good day, we couldn’t have asked for much more.
We drove back to the hotel after our walk around the Yorkshire Moors and we were promised a luxurious dinner for 7pm. We walked into the restaurant which was fairly quite and were seated straight away which is always good. The staff were extremely polite and were very attentive. It made our whole dining experience an enjoyable one. According to the website, the Courtyard Restaurant is proud of its reputation and its modern creative menus are packed with local and regional produce that showcases the best of Yorkshire food. We really enjoyed our three courses, mine especially as the pork was delicious.
The next day, we walked to breakfast which was held in the same place we had dinner. It was a pretty standard continental breakfast, with a few choices hot options on the menu. I didn’t fancy a hearty breakfast so I opted for the smoked salmon instead. It was a perfect meal to eat before wondering around the grounds. I really loved the open lounge in the lobby with a fire, it’s so snug and cosy.
I look back at our stay at Ox Pasture Hall Hotel and I smile. I really smile. It was a perfect weekend breakaway although a little far to travel from Birmingham. If you’re interested in knowing more about their room and restaurant rates, you can find it on the Ox Pasture Hall website. Please note: I was provided a complimentary one night stay in a luxury Suites with dinner, bed and breakfast for two.
