Winter Afternoon Tea At The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel, Birmingham

You wouldn’t believe the amount of messages I receive on a weekly basis asking ‘where’s good for afternoon tea in Birmingham?’. Funny thing is, I always point people to either one of two places. The first being the amazing Edgbaston Boutique Hotel which is famous for its glamorous cocktails, inventive creations and delightful afternoon tea, oozing Great Gatsby style decor with attentive staff. I had my birthday drinks there a few years ago and it was hands down one of the best birthdays ever. So when I heard the Edgbaston had brought out a Winter afternoon tea, I was told that tables were booked up weeks in advance. Lucky for me, the amazing Group General…

    Praza Indian Afternoon Tea

If you’ve ever read my blog, you’ll know that I’ve eaten my fair share of Afternoon Tea. You know the sort – fluffy sandwiches with creamy fillings, sugary sweet marzipan layered cakes, gallons of tea in china cups… yes, we’ve all done it! (You can read about the few that have stuck out for me in Birmingham here). So imagine my surprise when I was invited to eat Indian Afternoon Tea – the classic British favourite but with a twist! I have previously visited Praza when I was invited to review a couple of delicious curry dishes, so of course when I saw the email in my inbox asking me to trial something like this I was…

First Look At The High Field Town House

Ok…OK I admit I might have a teeny tiny hotel obsession. I’ve had some of the most amazing opportunities over the past couple of months to review several brand new hotels in Birmingham. Starting with The Park Regis, St Paul’s Boutique Hotel and now The High Field Town House. It’s such a privilege to be able to write content like this for my blog and believe me when I say, it’s not going to stop any time soon… If you live in Birmingham, you’ll have heard about the popular gastropub The High field, Edgbaston which opened in 2014. Next door now resides the brand new (and stunningly beautiful) Town House.…

    Praza by Pushkar, Edgbaston Review

The other week, I came home from work and fancied a takeaway. It was one of those ‘I can’t be bothered to cook’ type of evenings. And since I had recently heard great reviews about Praza by Pushkar, sister to Pushkar from a variety of bloggers and food critics, I was eager to jump on the band wagon and order some of their food on Deliveroo. However, since they didn’t deliver to my area of Edgbaston, instead Praza kindly contacted me and invited me along to dine at their relatively new restaurant on the Hagley Road. Believe me when I say I have visited a variety of different Indian restaurants in…

Afternoon Tea at The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel

Walking into The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel and Cocktail Bar makes you feel like you have just landed on a movie set. The elegance of golden chairs, dazzling cocktails and dangling chandeliers in the Art Deco lounge was the main reason why I booked my birthday cocktail night there in September. Although a little on the pricey side, you pay for what you get and more when it comes to presentation. I was so impressed with the service on my birthday night that I returned to try the tea and cake not long afterwards. It’s not often that a place leaves me in awe, but I would go as far to say this…
