Have you ever visited somewhere and never wanted to leave? Like ever? I have. The place is called Fairlawns Hotel & Spa in Aldridge, Walsall and my stay here was one the best hotel breaks I have done. Without a shadow of a doubt, I’ll be returning here sometime in the near future and will quite possibly refuse to leave the hotel room. Last weekend, I treated my boyfriend Josh to a 25th birthday surprise here and we stayed overnight, enjoying all the luxuries the hotel has to offer… come and take a peek!
I chose Fairlawns because of the amazing reputation they have and it was probably the best choice I ever made. We were greeted by friendly, welcoming staff on Saturday afternoon, and we were given a key to our room which was a couple of doors away from the treatment rooms – which was a bonus! This meant we didn’t have to walk up and down the stairs all the time to get to our treatments and the swimming pool. Our room was a superior, flaunted with crisp white sheets, fluffy towels, bathroom luxuries gowns/slippers and a huge television screen. I was excited the moment we stepped in the room, and because we stayed in the special superior suite, we were given a little bottle of champagne to enjoy.
Lucky for Josh, the TV also had Sky Sports and we watched some television before ordering in room service! I feel like it’s really exciting to order room service – and for people to just… bring you food without moving a muscle! I’m easily pleased obviously! I ordered the Fish Finger sandwich (food of the Cods, please!)
The spa treatments that we booked for afterwards were also amazing. I had a scalp and shoulder massage and Josh wanted a Deep Tissue Massage. I’m pretty certain I fell asleep on the table and went into that state of mind where you know you are asleep and you try not to snort… you know the one! Soon after, we hit the saunas and swimming pool which was a very delightful treat. The place has a ‘Crystal’ steam room which makes your breathing feel lighter, accompanied by hot bubbly foot spas you can relax in, heated lounger seats and a beautiful 18m pool. Josh also dared me to stand underneath the bucket which was full of ICE cold water and he pulled the chain. After our relaxation time, we arrived for dinner around 7pm in the bar downstairs, and I ordered the biggest glass of red wine and we were shown to our table which was covered in red love hearts (fancy!) and the dinner itself was possibly one of the best meals I have ever had.
I had Florida Cocktail for starters, which was a mixture of fruits and blood orange, and for main I ate the tastiest Bass. And the dessert… well, was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. The service and food was outstanding, and having the Ferrero Roche chocolate tart for dessert just tipped me over the edge.
Also, I want to mention that double bed was the comfiest bed I have slept in and it was pretty evident the next morning that I never wanted to leave. If you are looking for that ‘Special’ hotel -or just somewhere to go and relax for a weekend – I truly suggest you stay at Fairlawns. You will not be disappointed and you definitely get more than you bargain for. I must also mention that breakfast was incredible. I had scrambled eggs on toast but they give you a hot menu of choice to choose from. They also supply a breakfast bar with pastries, cereal and fruits! Superb! I’ve added some photos for you to gaze at. I was being a bit of a pompous pirate and just wanted to take pictures of everything… even the kettle.
I really enjoyed my stay and thank Fairlawns for treating us like royalty during our stay. Have you ever stayed here or would you consider it? Please do let me know in the comments… I’d love to know!
