It’s been a long time since I’ve posted a lifestyle blog. It feels like a lifetime, but I wanted to share this one with you. One of my best friend’s has recently jetted off to go travelling around Asia for a few months. So to say farewell, me and my three other besties surprised her with a luxury Airbnb stay in the Cotswolds recently. The place we stayed is a converted barn – Ashwell Barn, Chedworth. We did nothing but eat good food, drink good drink, play games and sleep. It really was complete and utter bliss if you ask me.
The barn is open plan, and sleeps up to four people. What’s more, the place has underfloor heating and the comfiest beds you could ever imagine. We arrived at the barn at around 4PM, not long after we stopped off for tea and cake, and a pub lunch in Cirencester. This luxurious Airbnb is located just 1 mile from the stunning Cotswold villages of Chedworth and Calmsden and is on a secluded bit of land. It really is the perfect place to come if you’re searching for that quiet retreat where you won’t be disturbed.
As soon as we arrived, we gasped in awe of how pretty the place was, we must’ve took about 100 pictures between us before I popped the kettle on. Me and Faye stayed in the twin beds and we slept like logs. As soon as my head hit the pillow I fell straight to sleep that night. Megan and Sophie were on the top floor in double bed that looked just as comfy, it felt so snug and peaceful under my duvet that night.
That night, we cooked fajitas, drank gin, played Cards Against Humanity and generally had a lovely night together. Not forgetting we listened to music until the early hours. It was really nice knowing we had the whole place to ourselves too and we weren’t going to disturb anyone. Sophie, the owner lives just up the road and popped in just after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. She provided us with milk, butter, chocolate brioches and lots of tea and coffee on arrival, but we made sure to do a food shop on the day so that when we woke up, we had breakfast readily available.
The morning after, we woke up to snow which was amazing! There’s nothing like your best mate screaming ‘OH MY GOD‘ to wake you up in the morning, haha! This girls weekend was long overdue, but it was so lovely just to be able to kick back, relax and play card games way into the night. I’ve had a few people ask me where we stayed since posting it on Instagram, so I will leave another link here to Ashwell Barn. What do you think of this place? Would you consider staying here for a long weekend? We stayed 1 night at a cost of £300.
Please note, I was not asked to write a blog about my stay but loved it all the same…
