The title alone is a mouthful, but damn they are good! I’ve only just stopped to take a breath after demolishing several of these little squares of sunshine. I’ll be honest with you, the only reason I bought a pack of pretzels was because I wanted a ‘healthier alternative’ than just snacking on crisps each day. But then life happened and my pretzels accidentally got crushed up and smoothered in chocolate and peanut butter. I don’t know how it happened, honest! But I’ve somehow ended up with a tray of these mouthwatering bites. Believe me, it’s true when I say they taste better than they look and each one is incredibly moorish…
I mixed 1 cup of unsalted (melted) butter with 1 cup of peanut butter and whisked until creamy. I then added 1/2 cup of caster sugar and 2 cups of crushed pretzels. (I momentarily forgot how to work the microwave and my butter ended up busting its guts all over the top of the microwave). Part two was pouring the mixture into a cold baking dish, making sure my mixture was even all the way around. For the chocolate topping, I melted 1/2 cups of chocolate with 1/2 cup of peanut butter and layered it on top of the mixture.
The glass dish has been cooling in the fridge over night so my snack size bites came out relatively hard but satisfyingly crunchy. I can’t believe I haven’t made these before, they are so easy to make. There’s something about combining of peanut butter and chocolate which I love and they are perfect if you have a sweet tooth. What do you think of my peanut butter pretzel bites, will you be making any soon?
Wow these look so EPIC!
