It’s not often I get to write fashion related posts, but since I’ve been banging on a lot these past few weeks about wanting to spend a whole weekend inside a cabin in the woods, it seems appropriate to write a little blog post about it. I’m actually genuinely looking to book a cabin breakaway soon, so if this isn’t motivation, then I don’t know what is. Simply Be recently challenged me to put together a summer wish list of items I’d take if I were to run away tomorrow, so here are just some of the items I would love to buy and take…

Packing is fun, sometimes. Or if you’re well and truly organised it can be but that’s not always the case. Personally, I think there’s nothing better than starting your holiday off on the right foot but packing your clothes into a gorgeous new holdall. I saw this Italian Leather Holdall on the John Lewis website for £175 and I can’t seem to take my eyes off it. It’s gorgeous. Dark, brown holdalls are both elegant and sophisticated, so I’d be wearing this with style. Next up is this stunning magicsculpt black swimsuit from Simply Be. Not only are they currently promoting their summer range, but they have so many costumes to suit all sizes. I’m a girl who eats a lot of food as you well know, so the Firm Control technology would be most welcome. This slinky black number would be a perfect choice to slip into the cabin hot tub in, under the stars, with a bottle of wine.
Although it might be 20+ degree heat in the UK right now, there’s nothing more comforting on a night than slipping on some cosy Jasmine silk cashmere socks (£26). Available in a range of colours to suit every night gown and pj set, these would be the first thing I’d throw into my overnight bag because I’m sure they feel so soft. And what is a night away without getting dressed up for dinner? I’m loving these 70s style Leaf Print ‘Hobson’ ladies high heeled sandals from Debenhams (£40). I’d love to get lost in nature with these beautiful things on my feet, I’d pair them with a gorgeous black dress, but maybe not walk very far.

What is a little bit of downtime without some noise cancelling headphones, really? My boyfriend is obsessed with them and we’re both looking for the best ones to purchase. Imagine sitting on the cabin deck, overlooking the sunset as you listen to some soothing music? These bad boys also have up to 20 hours of wireless listening too! It’s smart but breathable, so you can pair it with jeans and trainers, or even a black dress underneath if you want to keep the girly vibe.
I saw this Nautical Compass Pendant Necklace a few weeks back and I’ve been mesmerised by it ever since. It would be perfect to wear around my neck if I was venturing out for a long walk. It wouldn’t lead me anywhere, but a girl can pretend right? It’s 14k yellow gold, so costs a fair whack at £300 – but is the perfect statement piece to make you feel like an adventurer. Lastly, what is a holiday a diary scribbling marathon. With so much to see and do during a cabin visit (hot tub, exploring, eating, drinking, sleeping, watching films) it’s always handy to keep a diary close by to remember what you did.
