Happy end of the weekend, again. It comes around way too quick for my liking. Before we know it, it’ll be… Christmas. There, I said it, soz. But in all serious, I’m really enjoying writing these little updates as it keeps me on track as it gives me a brief chance to breathe, and look back on the chaos of my weeks. This one especially has been pretty brutal. As well as battling the exhaustive heat, I’ve been racing to complete client deadlines, keep on top of invoicing; as well as trying to balance my home life/blog life as well. So without further ado, come and have a brief look at what I’ve been up to in the final week of July 2018.
I have to keep looking back at my Google Calendar because honestly, sometimes I forget what day it is. I guess that’s the downside of working for yourself as all of the days seem to blur into one. This week however has been one to remember, as it had a very important day to look forward to. On Monday and Tuesday, the majority of my time were spent catching up on emails, writing copy for clients, and trying to win new clients too. On Wednesday, I woke up super early and drove to the Cotswolds for 11am as a I had a wedding to photograph. A beautiful friend of mine got married to the love of her life, and last year they asked me to be part of their day. Of course I said yes, and the majority of the 11 hours was spent shooting and capturing moments of the bride and groom getting ready, the build up, the ceremony, the family photos, the evening time – there’s a lot to think about and it was a long day. But I’m so glad they invited me and I can’t wait to show them the photos. I know they’ll love them as much as I enjoyed shooting them.
This weekend, I spent the majority of it with my mom, dad and boyfriend Josh working their summer fete. Each year, my parent’s pub – The Wheel Inn – sets out one day to spend with the community, running craft stalls, holding a BBQ, doing the duck race (which I’m always in charge of) and genuinely having a fantastic time. All of the money raised goes towards the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance and local churches, so it’s all in good spirit. This weekend, I took my chances and bought some raffle tickets from a few of the stalls. I ended up winning a new BBQ set, 2 bottles of wine, a football, and I won the skittle alley competition too – so a whole crate of Bateman’s Ales was also mine. It’s been a great week all round, but it’s fair to say I’m pretty exhausted today. I can’t wait to snuggle up tonight with a curry, watch the final of Love Island and to recharge my batteries for another crazy week ahead.
How has your week been? Keep your eyes peeled next week for the fourth edition round up next week
