Just 3 weeks in, the brand new HC LuxSpa nail bar in Selfridges, Birmingham has been attracting bloggers and beauty specialists in their dozens. Which is why when asked if I wanted to try out their new Artistic Colour Gloss Delux Manicure, it took me all of 5 seconds to say yes. Located on the third floor next to all the beauty counters, the nail bar is kitted out with more than 130 of the latest fashionable shades and colours, so I advise you arrive a couple minutes before your booked appointment to scan through the all the panels.
Hc LuxSpa is supported by some of the most luxurious nail brands available in the market today, including Morgan Taylor, Seche and Dadi’Oil, so trust me when I tell you – you’re in good hands! They provide different treatments for different types of nails and the creams and scrubs below are brand new to the UK so I genuinely felt like royalty getting to try out these new essentials before many others!
My nails and hands are affected by eczema so I choose the Delux Manicure to allow some hydration back into my nails. A short consultation is given and treatments range from £15-45 depending on the state of your nails. I was looked after by the branch manager, Lauren. She was really sweet and talked me through the treatment as she shaped/polished my nails and cuticles, then made me dipped my fingers into some warm water with Aroma Salt to cleanse my nails. It smelt like how relaxation and tranquillity would smell if it had a scent. A nail solution called IBX was also applied to my nails for maximum hydration and then put under a LED lamp to absorb. Next she massaged my arms and hands and I tried my hardest not to fall asleep.
The best part of the treatment was having this creamy scrub massaged onto my arms and hands then wrapped in cling film bags before being heated inside a electronic heated pad. I felt really spoiled all the way through the experience and I’ll definitely be going back soon and most likely taking my mama with me.
The choice was hard as there’s so many colours to choose from, but my heart landed on the colour ‘Intoxicating’. I can say now I definitely chose one of the best colours from the entire range and it makes my nails look so clean and fresh. My photographs don’t do the service justice!
To finish off, the gorgeous Dadi’Oil was applied to my nail beds to lock in all the moisture. The last two photos were taken by Lauren and the gels are said to stay put between 2-3 weeks. My overall treatment for the full whack and IBX Treatment would have cost £65. I can honestly say my hands have never felt this hydrated and soft before and my eczema seems to have disappeared all of a sudden.
