Review | The Massage Company – Sutton Coldfield

For years I’ve enjoyed being pampered, visiting spas up and down UK, and most importantly – enjoying massages. When The Massage Company got in touch regarding their unique monthly subscriptions packages, I jumped at the chance to try it out.

The Massage Company, based in Sutton Coldfield (other locations are available for this brand), are revolutionising the way massages are viewed in society. Demonstrating an interesting business model that I haven’t seen anywhere else, they are basing their entire business concept around this idea of a monthly subscription service. It sounds like the ultimate dream. The best part of it? They set themselves strides apart from other massage companies as they are aimed at both men and women, of all ages. They vow to promote equality throughout all treatments and this is a great factor. You are also able to choose whether you want a male or female therapist, so you never have to feel uneasy about this either. I was honestly blown away by the experience and the quality of the massage when I visited mid July this year, this place really is a hidden gem of the Midlands.

Visiting The Massage Company

I really don’t want to state the obvious, but massage is proven to aid sleep, mindfulness and inner calm. Have you ever seen an angry person leaving a treatment before? I thought not. After many months of barely showing myself any TLC, I was leaving for my own treatment on an early Saturday morning in a very good mood. It means that I get an hour just for myself. No phone. No interruption. No chaos. Just something for me. Intrigued to see what my full body and hot stones massage would entail, this blog showcases my honest opinion of my time spent there.

Upon entering, you’ll notice the reception is full of comfy sofas and the space is squeaky clean. Staff are wearing masks still and there is a sense of calm when walking in. I filled in a form with some details including any medical issues I have and what type of pressure I require during my massage. For this review, I was gifted an extra option of either hot stones, aromatherapy or a scalp massage. After carefully considering, I went for the hot stones option – I really, really enjoy the feel of the heat on my skin.

A member of staff (also known as a massage therapist) came to collect me within minutes of my 9AM appointment, they’re very prompt here, no messing around! I was led up to a room when I was given some details on what my treatment would entail and whether I had any questions. Again, I’d like to point out that the staff are trained to make you feel calm and weightless during your time spent here. Nothing seemed like too much trouble and once briefed, I was ready to switch off my brain and relax. it’s worth mentioning they provide a range of treatments, including sports massages, deep tissue, Swedish, maternity – and even have upgrade packages too.

The treatment lasted 50 minutes and I can honestly say it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. From working at a desk, and carrying a toddler around on my hip all day, there was tension to be removed from the top half of my body. The hot stones felt so relaxing and I could have easily fallen asleep. I wish the treatments were longer than they are, because having a massage is something I really need at the best of times. The Massage Company showcase their powerful beliefs that they want to make it easier for people to feel the benefit of a massage, and to make it a routine thing. I tend to go MONTHS without having one, which plays havoc on my neck and shoulders. They’re usually in pieces so I shouldn’t leave it so long until the next one.

SHOW YOURSELF SOME TLC

It’s true when they say that regular massages can have superior impacts on both your physical and mental health. Not only this, it can also drastically improve different aspects of your life. At the risk of sounding philosophical, when you are good to yourself, you can be the best possible version of yourself for others too, it’s a well known fact!

Once my massage had ended, I was given some notes to take away with me, and no doubt I’ll be going back after the holidays for another one. The price of their membership is £54.95 per month and you have the option to open this up to a flexi membership which enables you to share the experience with a family member or friend if you can’t visit yourself. The idea is to sign up to a monthly subscription so you always have something to look forward to. It may be a little on the pricey side, but believe me when I say, the massages here are worth every penny. What’s more, if you become a regular visitor with a subscription, your dedicated therapist knows your body and can work with you monthly to remove any tension without having to repeat yourself. I’ve added the price list so you can see.
