The ibis Hotel Birmingham: ibis Lates On Tour

The other week I was kindly contacted on behalf of ibis Hotels with an exciting opportunity to attend an exclusive gig at the ibis Hotel, Birmingham. In partnership between ibis Hotels and The Roundhouse which supports the Teenager Cancer Trust, ‘ibis Lates’ was formed as a series of gigs to be held in ibis hotel lobbies around the UK to raise money. On Thursday May 11th, I got to witness first hand some fantastic regional up-and-coming artists and DJ’s including the brilliant, Birmingham-based Ekkah. It really was a great night. A room for the night Straight after work, I raced to the hotel where they kindly lent me a room for the night. This…

An invitation to review the Macdonald Hotel Windsor

All of my hotel stays until now have been leading up to this incredible stay at Macdonald Windsor Hotel. I was kindly invited to Windsor for the weekend to kick back, relax and soak up the surroundings. The best thing about this visit is the fact that the hotel is located quite literally opposite Windsor Castle. It really was a spectacular weekend and nothing could prepare me for when we finally got to our hotel room. We quickly dropped our bags off at the concierge before heading out. One of the most memorable things was having a person collect our car from outside the Macdonald private car park and to take…

Ox Pasture Hall Hotel Review – Scarborough

Ox Pasture Hall Hotel is gorgeous four star country hotel that I was invited to review late last year. For some reason it’s taken me a while to post about it but I couldn’t not show you, it’s absolutely stunning. During our trip I took some beautiful pictures which will tell you all you need to know about the place. Located near Scarborough, it took us around two and half hour hours to drive there from Birmingham and during our one night stay, we visited the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and ate some pretty great grub. The hotel really looked after us during our visit, I would highly recommend a…

The Montcalm Royal London House – Hotel Review

I wasn’t going to blog about this hotel at first. The main reason being I wanted to keep it personal as it was for my ten year anniversary getaway. But after spending a night at Montcalm Royal London House on Finsbury Square, we were completely blown away by the service, the room, and the general handling of our booking. I can genuinely say that our experience with the hotel was borderline faultless which I find is a very rare occurrence. The Montcalm is actually a chain of hotels and I’ve stayed in one before when I visited London a few years back. This specific hotel has only been open for a few months, so…

The Fat Fox Inn – Watlington Review

A long overdue Happy New Year to you all. I decided to take a break from blogging over the Christmas period to stop and recharge the batteries a little. Amongst all the Christmas chaos and being back at work, I haven’t forgot to tell you all about my latest B&B adventure at The Fat Fox Inn, located at the centre of the small market town of Watlington on the edge of the Chiltern Hills. This trip came at the perfect time at the end of 2016. A quaint little retreat, delicious homemade grub and wine. What more could you ask for? I was aware that my blogging pal Eat with Ellen had…
