For my birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with a lunch date at Michelin Star restaurant Adam’s on Waterloo Street in Birmingham City Centre. According to Tripadvisor, the stunning restaurant has been rated #1 out of 1824 restaurants in Birmingham and is ninth best in the world. Speaks volumes doesn’t it? Adam’s first opened in 2013 on Bennetts Hill and was awarded a Michelin star within six months of opening. The restaurant then moved to the new building, New Oxford House on Waterloo Street.
We were seated in the bar area and handed a wine menu. I gave Josh the look of ‘Omg can I? It’s going to be so expensive but can I?‘. Crisps with balsamic vinegar were brought over to us while we drank red wine, it was perfect. I first noticed a little card on the table and thought Josh had set it up but he looked really confused. The team & Adam wrote me a birthday card. HOW CUTE. The only way they found out was through me putting something on social media an hour before. We opted for the 3 course menu (£60 per head) and we were blown away by the standard of the food. I haven’t thoroughly described the courses below as I think the photographs speak more than words. Have you been to Adam’s before?

After our meal, we sipped on lattes and relaxed while some additional chocolates were brought over. Meal portion sizes were perfect and we didn’t come away feeling bloated. We found the service impeccable and staff were extremely attentive. They make you feel like royalty when you dine there, which is expected for the price of the meals.
